Help! My Auto-Hide is br0ken!

Yeah, that kind of sucks when you work in Windows XP: apparantly this can happen frequently when Windows returns from hibernation.

The good news is that you don’t have to reboot your computer for this. UseNet to the rescue:

– Close any open Explorer windows. (I’m talking the file explorer,
not Internet Explorer)
– Ctrl-Alt-Del to open Task Manager. In the Processes tag find EXPLORER.EXE. (You can click on the “Image Name” heading to sort the processes.)
– Highlight EXPLORER.EXE, and click End Process. Answer Yes to the warning box.
– In the menu, click File >> New Task. Type explorer in the window and ckick (sp!, ed) OK.
– Close Task Manager.

Problem is that, you still have to do it again each time when Windows hibernates.
