Trees. Trees.

AMaple fruit visible reminder for myself: I keep confusing oak trees and maple trees in Dutch.

oakstuff So once again, dear self: a maple tree is what they call an ‘esdoorn’ in Dutch. And no, the Dutch aren’t familiar with ‘esdoorn siroop’, or that stuff that we call ‘maple syrup’ (it’s good remember, Self? You like it particularly on your crepes)

And those funny looking ‘eikels’ from an ‘eikeboom’ are called ‘acorns’ from an ‘oak tree’. So, dear self: next time you look it up on Google, you may find a reference to your Self.Weblog. Eikel.

Thanks.
