Although I’m not the greatest fan of the local Truro Daily News, I find it disturbing that they aren’t online anymore. Normally, portions of their items appeared on their own little spot at truro.canada.com, but nowadays that URL has apparently emerged as a ‘Maritimes news’ only, thus covering all news from NB, PEI, Nfld and NS.
So when I was looking for news concerning that bomb scare at the local bank, I only found a small item at the Herald. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less. Not even ‘anchored’, so here’s the specific text:
Police seek information after man phones in bomb threats to Truro bank
By Cathy von Kintzel / Truro Bureau Truro – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who phoned in
two bomb threats to a TD Canada Trust bank branch about 40 minutes apart Friday
morning.
The man, thought to be in his 30s, called Truro police at 8:35 a.m., saying
there was a bomb in the Inglis Street bank.
So much of trying to stay informed via the little laptop screen.
One felt rather intimidated when walking into the bank on that day as the lone policeman guarding the door was holding the door and not letting in more than 1 person at the time. Even the staff seemed tense and having known the 1 I went to, she was hardly saying anything which made 1 to believe that we all had the bomb in our pockets. If they had checked the bank for a bomb you would have thought they either would have closed the bank or had more security there. Didn’t make a lot of sense to me. But then .. this is Truro for you … as they all say, ‘It can’t happen here’. I believe 1 day that are going to be caught with their pants down .. know what I mean?

No, it didn’t make that much sense. Lets hope they spank the guy who did it :-)
