Talking about the Matrix

The Superstation has The Matrix on until tomorrow. At least they showed the uncut version and had a couple of extras too, like quick background stories how things were done. A couple of comments on the movie:

  • Nope, I haven’t seen ‘Matrix: Reloaded’.
  • I don’t have plans to see ‘Revolutions’ either.
  • I plan to check out the DVDs. Once.
  • I have seen the original Matrix too many times. The first time I saw it, I was shocked. Seeing it afterwards confirmed the feeling that current movies and directors have learned from that one movie.
  • I noticed something silly: the movie starts at the Heart hotel (can’t recall the exact name). This is where Trinity starts. Neo dies in the same hotel, to resurrect after the act of love and the kiss. Notice how Agent Smith looks at the sign of the Hotel.
  • The phones are the umbilical cord to Mother, the Nebudkadnezar.
  • Rain is pouring down, just like the code of the Matrix. Pouring water basically cleans: notice how reality sinks in when the sprinklers pour water over the agents.

Naturally, I believe the Wachovski brothers have learned great things from the Twin Peaks series.
