Ballerina Frame





PSP X - Intermediate Level

Supplies Needed:

Graphic
Corner tube
Gold Pattern



1 - Open graphic, Duplicate and close original
2 - Open a New Transparent Image the same dimensions as the graphic, minimise it

3 - In the foreground box Landscape Gradient > Angle 47> Repeats 0
4 - In the background Gold pattern Angle 0>Scale 100

Firstly we’re going tube the ballerina as follows:

1 - Open Selection Tool> Freehand
2 - Draw a complete outline as close to ballerina as possible. Copy
3 - Maximise Transparent Image Paste as New Layer
4 - View>Zoom to 100%

**Now you will see stray pixels around the image.
Open the Eraser too, Shape>Round> size 3 or 4

5 - Erase as close to the image as possible - See screen shot



6 - When there is a clear line around the image, increase the size of the Eraser
and get rid of the remaining background.
7 - When you are satisfied that you have a good clean tube, return zoomed image to original size. Edit> Copy

(At this stage the image can be saved as a Tube for future use.)


Framing and using your ballerina tube:


1 - Open a New Transparent Image same size as previously.
Flood fill with the Landscape Gradient.
Edit> Paste as New Layer
2 - Effects>Drop Shadow> Vertical >2 Horizontal >2, Opacity 64>
Blur 5.00> Colour Black> Shadow on New Layer >unchecked
3 - Repeat Drop Shadow, changing Vertical and Horizontal to -2 (minus)
4 - Layer> Merge All
5 - Image>Add Border> Black>Symmetric 1
6 - Image>Add Border> White>Symmetric 3, Select with
Magic Wand - See screen shot



7 - Flood fill with Gold Pattern, Deselect
8 - Image>Add Border> White>Symmetric 30,
Select with Magic Wand, same settings
9 - Flood Fill with Gradient, do not deselect
10 - Effects> Texture> Fine Leather - See screen shot



11 - Adjust>Sharpness>High Pass Sharpen> Radius>10>
Strength>100> Blend Mode >Soft Light
12 - Deselect
13 - Image>Add Border> Black>Symmetric 1
14 - Image>Add Border> White>Symmetric 3, Select with Magic Wand
15 - Flood Fill with Gold Pattern
16 - Image>Add Border> White>Symmetric 40,
Select with Magic Wand, same settings
17 - Flood Fill with Gradient, do not deselect
18 - Effects> Texture> Fine Leather
19 - Adjust>Sharpness>High Pass Sharpen> Radius>10>
Strength>100> Blend Mode >Overlay

20 - Repeat High Pass Sharpen
21 - Do not deselect
22 - Effects>Image Bevel - See screen shot



23 - Deselect
24 - Image>Add Border> Black>Symmetric 1
25 - Image>Add Border> White>Symmetric 3, Select with Magic Wand
26 - Flood Fill with Gold Pattern
27 - Add your watermark, Resize, Optimise and save as jpeg.
