Gold Frame from a Corner



PSP 7 - Intermediate Level

Supplies Needed:

Decorative Gold Corner
Gold pattern - for outside frame
Image with a dark background



For this tutorial a square image of your choice works best.
It's important the image is square otherwise it will distort when inserted.

NOTE. All New Transparent images opened will be 455 x 455 pixels,
in some instances this large size isn't required but it saves a lot of changing.

1) Open corner tube> Duplicate>Delete original> Copy tube.

2) Open Transparent Image 455 x 455>Paste as New Selection> Deselect
>With Mover Tool, place in top left hand corner.

3) View> Zoom in by 1> Selection Tool> Rectangle.
Select part of corner as shown on screen shot below.


View> View Normal >Copy >Paste as new Selection.
With Mover Tool butt right up to edge corner. Use Zoom if necessary.

4) Open New Transparent image>Paste as New Selection>
Image Rotate 90 degrees, either Left or Right> Copy > to Previous Image>
With Mover Tool butt right up to bottom edge corner. Use Zoom if necessary.
You have now enlarged your corner. Copy >Close Rotated Image.

5) Open New Transparent Image>New Raster Layer>Paste as New Selection>
Move to top left hand corner> Deselect>
Layers Duplicate>Image>Mirror>Layers> Duplicate>Image>Flip>Layers Duplicate >Image>Mirror.

6) View> Zoom in by 1. Check your joins to see they are butted right up, adjust if needed with Mover Tool.
View> Normal. Layers>Merge Visible. Now you save as .psp to your Frames Folder for future use.


7) Open graphic image, Duplicate, close original.

8) With colour dropper, pick a colour from graphic to your foreground
colour box, gold pattern in background styles box.

9) Open New Transparent Image. New Raster Layer. Flood fill with
foreground colour. I used # 5A292C.

10) Activate Frame >Copy > Minimise

11) Activate Flood filled image>Paste as New Layer

12) Activate Graphic Image> Copy

13) Activate Flood Filled image with the Frame.

With Magic Wand > select centre of image>Paste into Selection. Deselect.

14) Layers >Merge Flatten

15) Add 2 pixel symmetric border> select Magic Wand> same settings.

16) Flood Fill with Gold Pattern

17) Add your watermark, Resize, Optimise and save as jpeg.
